Wardrobe Analysis: Nina

In the video, Nina has two main attires: A patterned top and a fleeced coat, both with a long skirt.

In the different versions, black and white or normal coloured, the effects represent different things. Many indie videos have a greyed or dull colour scale to represent the broody genre, which I am currently considering for my final video.

In colour, a close up of Nina's face profile shows gentle shadowing from the lighting arrangements and her dark make up suits the dark and light contrast created by the lights, as if it were natural.

Here, in black and white, her complexion is consistent so nothing drastically stands out as it does in colour.  A duller effect may cause the viewer to think about the lyrics in a deeper perspective. The two shots in different effects cause different interpretations to be made and it is just a matter of which one I will want and is it conventional of indie genre.

In most outdoors shots, Nina wore a fleeced coat. The reason for this mainly being that is was three degrees, and also I said that she should dress how she wanted her audience to interpret her.
Left if Holly Willoughby, popular female TV presenter. The coat represents sophistication and class: I think that in juxtaposition to Angharads casual grunge clothing style it creates a unique sense of how different the two are but how well the different styles of their voices compliment each other.

Beyonce, superstar, embraces her hairs wild curls.
When it came to pre performance hair and make up, I wanted Nina to express herself as the bold character she is. I liked the idea of having an iconic part of her that will become something associated with her bold voice.  It seems to represent that her voice in untamed and edgy.
When we were deciding how the girls should do their make up, I thought that Nina should have a more sultry smokey eye look to match her classy outfit. Demonstrating the look I wanted to go for is soul singer adele. The dark on the outside and light inside the eye looks elegant and I replicated this as I saw similarities between Nina and adele's styles.
